Ingredients and Variations

Chicken Wings – For the best air fryer wings and quicker prep, look for split wings that already have the drummets and wing portions separated, and the wing tips already chopped off.

You can use frozen boneless or bone-in wings, but be sure to thaw first so you can pat them dry for crisping up in the air fryer.

Sauce – Use real butter and freshly grated parmesan or Romano cheese for the best flavor. However, you can also get good flavor from a butter substitute and a shaker jar of cheese if that’s what you have! Be sure to crush the garlic to extract the most flavor.

Variations – This keto and gluten-free recipe uses simple seasonings, but you can amplify the flavor with your favorites. Try a DIY blend of onion, garlic, and cayenne powder or this herbal Italian mix.

Tips for Air Fryer Chicken Wings

  • Be sure to pat the wings dry to ensure the oil and seasonings stick.
  • Don’t crowd the air fryer. Wings need space to allow the hot air to circulate.
  • These wings are tasty all on their own, but especially delicious with creamy or spicy dipping sauces. Try a creamy chip dip or a spicy Buffalo dip.
  • For the best appetizer tray, serve with other hot and savory appetizers, such as pizza rolls or bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers.
