Vortex Air Fryer Bread Pudding
Vortex Air Fryer Bread Pudding
This is one of my favorite desserts to make and I just figured how to make it in my Vortex Air Fryer!!!
This recipe is great for leftover bread – for this batch, I used half a loaf of sourdough bread and it was amazing! You just need to make sure the bread is firm not soft. Old bread is perfect!
Gather your ingredients! Heads up that is my homemade vanilla – not Gin lol.
Dice the bread into one inch cubes.
Then mix all of the other ingredients. Find a dish that will fit in your Vortex Air Fryer. I use the large one in this set. It fits perfectly!
The key to good bread pudding in the Vortex is to cover the pan for most of the cooking. As I have said before the Vortex cooks fast. I figured out a cool trick. Check out my trick for creating a pan or rack cover for the Vortex here.
Using this technique creates a little oven in the bottom!
Perfect bread pudding!
Vortex Air Fryer Bread Pudding
Equipment
- Vortex Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 6 slices bread day old or other firm bread.
- 2 tablespoons butter melted
- 4 eggs beaten
- 2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer to 325 on Bake
- Dice the bread into one inch cubes
- Mix all of the other ingredients together
- Spray the pan with non-stick spray
- Put the bread cubes in the pan
- Pour all of the mixed sauce on the bread cubes
- NOTE - if you have large bread you may not need to pour it all. You don't want the mixture flooded but you do want all of the bread cubes covered. You just need to make sure they are all saturated.
- Let soak for at least 5 minutes
- Put the dish on the bottom rack. Cover the pan with a cover and then put another rack above it. This keeps the top from over cooking
- Bake for 45 minutes. Check every 10 minutes to ensure the top isn't getting overcooked if you don't use a cover.
- Pull out and push on the top. It is done when it is firm. If not, put back in for another 5-10 minutes.
- Let sit 10 minutes before serving.
