Once sweet potato wedges are prepped, they are ready to eat in just 10 minutes!

  1. Peel and slice wedges, then soak in a bowl of cold water for 15 minutes to remove the starch.
  2. While the air fryer is preheating, pat wedges dry and toss with oil.
  3. Press the cheese and seasoning mixture onto the wedges.

Air Fryer Sweet Potato Wedges

These parmesan crusted air fryer sweet potatoes are crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Soak Time 15 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes

Equipment

Ingredients  

  • 2 small sweet potatoes scrubbed and cut into wedges
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese grated*
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Instructions 

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
  • Slice potatoes into wedges and soak for 15-30 minutes in cold water.**
  • Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Drain the wedges and pat them dry with a paper towel. Toss with olive oil and press into the parmesan cheese mixture making sure all the potatoes are evenly coated.
  • Place the wedges in the air fryer basket and cook for 11-12 minutes or until golden brown and tender.

Notes

*Grated parmesan cheese will stick better to the sweet potatoes. However, if using shredded cheese, place it in a plastic bag and use a rolling pin to make it finer.
**Soaking draws out excess starch allowing the sweet potatoes to fry up crispy.
