FAQ And Expert Tips

  • Remember that if whole pickles are being used, then it is a good idea to cut them into lengthwise or crosswise strips. Make sure that they are cut thinly and evenly. Also, pat the pickles dry. If there is too much moisture, then the breading will not adhere to the pickles.
  • The key in how to make pickle chips crispy is to not crowd the pickles in the air fryer basket. If there are a lot of chips to be made, then cook them in batches.

Can You Freeze Cooked Dill Pickle Chips?

By all means, save some of the pickles (if you can without eating them all), and then freeze some. Don’t throw all the cooked chips into the bag at once or they will freeze in a clump. Once they have cooled, spread them out on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place the pan in the freezer. Once they are frozen, transfer them to a freezer bag.
